Nagase Diagnostics produces more than 100 enzymes used across clinical chemistry reagents, biosensors, and POCT applications. These include enzymes for assays related to blood glucose, lipids, kidney function, and liver function.
In 2002, Nagase Diagnostics developed the first enzymatic Glycated Albumin (GA) assay—an intermediate glycemic marker reflecting average glucose levels over the previous 2–3 weeks. GA is especially valuable when initiating or adjusting diabetes treatment, or when traditional markers do not correlate with blood glucose levels, such as in hemodialysis patients or pregnant women with gestational diabetes. NAGASE’s GA reagent is currently the only GA assay with U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance and holds 100% market share in Japan.

Trehalose is widely used to stabilize proteins, enzymes, and nucleotides during storage, while maltose is commonly used to preserve proteins and enzymes in lyophilized assays.
Nagase ChemteX offers a portfolio of more than 10,000 dyes developed through over 70 years of research in dye synthesis. We supply high‑performance dyes with precisely tuned absorption properties, spanning ultraviolet to near‑infrared wavelengths (350–1100 nm). Our manufacturing system supports small‑batch, high‑variety production starting from gram scale, ensuring reliable quality and flexibility for diagnostic applications requiring specialized wavelength‑selective dyes.
